πŸ“š My Review:

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

What an incredibly empowering and refreshing read for women ages 40 and above! This amazing book teaches older women how to find their inner glow and own their power unapologetically. It's refreshing that the author doesn't shy away from aging or tell you how you should look or act. She actually embraces aging, while at the same time encourages you to be as healthy and active as possible (which has a natural bonus of making you feel and look younger as a result!). She's realistic in recognizing that aging is inevitable, which we all know deep down. What this book is really about is how aging doesn't have to be a bad thing or a weakness. It's not about our physical appearance or abilities, but rather our inner radiance and strength. So you're actually growing stronger, wiser, and more beautiful as you age, which is such a wonderful way of looking at it (and it's true!).

This book is filled with helpful and enjoyable strategies, tips, advice, and resources. My favorite exercises were the journaling prompts (which I've always found to be therapeutic and healing), positive affirmations and self-talk, and creative visualization. I also particularly enjoyed reading the skin care section and finding advice about using certain products for maintaining smooth and supple skin.

I like how the author encourages women to own their unique style (ex: their wardrobe, accessories, makeup, etc.) and that it is a reflection of their personality and inner strength. It isn't about trying to look like someone younger or fitting society's expectation of what looks good. It's not about blending in or shrinking yourself, but standing out and embracing your uniqueness. You are owning your power and expressing your unique and beautiful self, and no one can take that away from you.

Some other aspects of this book that I found to be encouraging and inspirational is making time for daily self-care rituals (remember, habits don't happen overnight), visualizing your goals and future, showing kindness and gratitude towards the special people in your life (and she explains how kindness creates a beautiful ripple effect), slowing down and appreciating the little everyday moments in your life (especially laughter!), and expressing yourself creatively (my personal favorites are painting, drawing, writing, and jewelry-making).

Lastly, I really like the term "glow" that the author uses in the title and throughout the book. It's something that starts within you but is also reflected through you to the outside and shines upon others. It represents vitality, energy, light, youthfulness, playfulness, and so much more. It's beauty and strength, and it's so uniquely you! I highly recommend this book to all women (even beginning in their 30's) to read, reflect on, and enjoy.

Stay tuned for the book launch date next month!
