This is my newest children's book that came out last month, titled "Daisy is Shy, and That's Okay."
This is something I've wanted to write for a long time, but I was never quite ready for it. I was still working on my own social anxiety (still am, to be honest; though I've improved immensely over the past few years). I wanted to help children dealing with shyness and low self-esteem, and to let them know that they're not alone. Not just that, but that it's okay to be shy and quiet. It's not a bad thing! In fact, it isn't the actual shyness/quietness that's the problem; it's feeling badly about yourself. I want to help prevent someone from going through what I did growing up. Social anxiety can also lead to other anxiety disorders and mental health issues if not treated properly. I know this for a fact from years of experience!
I've been both excited and nervous about this book coming out. It's more of a personal story for me in that it reflects how I felt as a kid (unfortunately without the happy ending Daisy had until many years later). I really hope that it can help people, and that children enjoy reading about Daisy and her life.
If you've read my story and enjoyed it or found it to be helpful, I would love for you to write a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads! Even a quick rating is very helpful.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and happy reading! π

This looks like a cute book. I miss reading books like these to my kids. They grow up way too fast.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I don't have kids of my own, but I see all of my younger cousins growing up so fast. Time flies!
