Children's Holiday Books

What is your favorite genre of children's books? As you can see from my blog title, holiday books have always been one of my favorites. It's always held that sense of magic and excitement for kids, and I like to try to both re-create it as well as hold onto it myself. Especially when you need a reprieve from all of the chaos in the world today, it's a welcome sanctuary for my inner child.

So far I have written three holiday books for children (Christmas, Easter, and Halloween-themed). I have to admit...I'm still planning on more! For me the writing itch is never quite satisfied. 😜 I'm hoping it doesn't look obsessive or rushed; I just can't help writing more! Is there such thing as too many books written, or a limit on creativity? I don't think so (in my opinion). Perhaps, after years of being silent, my stories simply need to come out and be told.

Through a culmination of writing books, blog writing, social media and art, this is how I express myself. Many people who know me personally or in "real life" are probably very surprised to see my work displayed for all to see. Being shy and quiet was seen as my identity (on the outside) growing up. But through my writing and artwork, my real personality and voice shines through.

Back to the topic of holiday books...I might just be creating a children's book for Thanksgiving next year!...πŸ˜‰πŸ¦ƒπŸ•πŸΆ More on that later...in the meantime, I'm excited for the fall and Halloween coming up in a couple of months. What holidays and seasons do you like? Do you enjoy reading holiday books (for whatever age)?

Let me know what you think!

Enjoy the rest of the summer (it's too short up here in New York! πŸ˜†)!

Newest Book!

This is my newest children's book that came out last month, titled "Daisy is Shy, and That's Okay."

This is something I've wanted to write for a long time, but I was never quite ready for it. I was still working on my own social anxiety (still am, to be honest; though I've improved immensely over the past few years). I wanted to help children dealing with shyness and low self-esteem, and to let them know that they're not alone. Not just that, but that it's okay to be shy and quiet. It's not a bad thing! In fact, it isn't the actual shyness/quietness that's the problem; it's feeling badly about yourself. I want to help prevent someone from going through what I did growing up. Social anxiety can also lead to other anxiety disorders and mental health issues if not treated properly. I know this for a fact from years of experience!

I've been both excited and nervous about this book coming out. It's more of a personal story for me in that it reflects how I felt as a kid (unfortunately without the happy ending Daisy had until many years later). I really hope that it can help people, and that children enjoy reading about Daisy and her life.

If you've read my story and enjoyed it or found it to be helpful, I would love for you to write a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads! Even a quick rating is very helpful.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, and happy reading! πŸ’™
