Children will love following the simple dance moves demonstrated in the book, as well as being encouraged to improvise or modify. It's all about using your imagination! The illustrations are mesmerizing and will draw children right into the story, keeping them engaged for hours on end. What a wonderful treat for your little dancer at home! "Friends for Anabelle" by Melanie Lopata 

This is such a sweet and heartwarming story about a little girl named Anabelle who is desperately looking for furry friends to play with outside. Yet everywhere she looks the animals are too fast or busy and disappear! 

How will she ever make a new friend to play with? Anabelle soon learns that it's the times when we're gratefully living in the moment (especially out in nature) and feeling happy with who we are that unexpected friends come into our lives. Good things are always worth waiting for. 

What a valuable lesson!  Springtime and nature also demonstrates to children the miraculous cycle of life in a way they can understand. The bright and adorable illustrations in this book enhance this, along with nature's free roaming spirit. In addition to this, the kindness of Anabelle and her friends are evident in their friendly and animated interactions with each other. This sets a wonderful example for children.

📚This is a delightfully entertaining book for children with adorable (and humorous!) illustrations. Siblings Benji and Briana go on a pretend magical journey to the whimsical Surgeryland, where they learn in a funny and creative way all about sneezing, snot, and the human body. They also learn about the importance of proper hygiene, which is important that all children practice (especially during flu and allergy season!).

I love the two main brother-sister characters, Benji and Briana. They are the perfect team, showing caring and kindness to each other. The text and bright illustrations in this book highlight their animated personalities through their facial expressions and interactions with others. 

I highly recommend this book to all children ages 6 to 10 to read and enjoy.

"The Hatbox Letter" by Laura LeMond is a captivating historical read that's based on an incredible true story. It takes place in 1916 in the fast-changing world in St. Joseph, Missouri. Sixteen-year-old Gladys is in love with a young gentleman named Johnny Fry, yet suddenly a misunderstanding arises when Johnny pays her a visit one night, and their romance is abruptly put on hold. Feelings are hurt, and then Gladys' brother Harry enlists in the army during World War 1, further adding to the pain, worry, and loneliness. 

Although this book deals with the harsh realities of the war, sickness, heartbreak, and loss, it is ultimately a story full of hope, love, new beginnings, empowerment, and resilience. 

Through the author's talented storytelling, she draws you right into the story's setting alongside the authentic and very relatable characters. Gladys was a strong and kind-hearted woman who persued her passion, persevered, found independence (this was an especially exciting time for young women during the Roaring Twenties!), and built and rekindled relationships. She had a loving support system around her who believed in her and her dreams. 

I highly recommend this story to all those who enjoy a good historical read that's filled with excitement, romance, strong emotions, honesty, resilience, and new beginnings. I like the fast pace of the story which keeps a steady rhythm throughout, keeping me engaged. Well worth the read.
